-Missing You-
…life in a foreign land…
Tomorrow I am leaving Ebola central and heading for the bustling metropolis of Kampala. There I will join the rest of the World Harvest Mission team, minus Scott Myhre and Pat Abbott who will be coming on Monday. I’ll be in Kampala until December 27, and then I’ll return to Bundibugyo for a few days before heading out again, possibly to Murchison Falls for a post new year’s celebration with Pat, Ashley, and Sara.
I like being in Bundibugyo, but I am at a point now where I could use a mini-vacation away. Life here is hard, even before Ebola came. There is a vast array of poverty, illness, and despair. The past two weeks numerous people have knocked on my door, seeking assistance to buy food or clothes for Christmas day. I wish I could help them all, but that would be financially impossible and not relationally wise.
I still have not fully comprehended that Christmas is only a few days away. This holiday season has been unlike any other.
In American I have many friends similar in age and life experience to me, which helps me to process my every day life. In this foreign land I have friends, but cultural issues often get in the way of just being and relating to people. I am thankful to be here, but when I think of Christmas and New Year’s celebrations it causes me to miss friends and family in America.
Missing you,
Scott J. Will

Scott!
I hope the Christmas party went well with the kids.
It must feel like strange Christmas to you without snow or at least cold weather.
You know, the majority of Christians in the world have a green, warm Christmas every year - now you are one of the lucky ones!
When we moved back to the U.S., I missed Christmas on the beach; now I've gotten used to the cold and darkness of this season in the U.S.
I hope your trip goes well and that you can get some gooood rest in Kampala.
Blessings,
Christy
Scottie,
I've just been catching up on your adventures as we just discovered your blog last week.
That's nice you will be able to get away for the holidays for a "mini-vacation".
We sure miss you too and look forward to when we can see you again.
Merry Christmas and know you are always in our prayers!
Grace and Claire say hello too and wear their "Crabbie" shirts often.
Love,
the Strongs
